Version history
Version 2.6.0.0 (January 12, 2008):
-
Important error correction:
Bug description: After changing the main passphrase, access to the database could be denied, displaying the message "Error #104"
Action taken: The bug has been corrected.
To access a database blocked after changing passphrase: Open the database with the new passphrase and follow instructions (enter the old passphrase when prompted to do so). This will correct the issue. At the next access, the new passphrase will be accepted.
Version 2.5.0.15 (December
1, 2007):
01:07 11-01-2008
- New features:
- Program adapted to run on Windows VISTA.
- Contact categories: in previous versions, a
contact could only be grouped into one
category; this versions allows for every contact
to belong to
different categories (like in Outlook).
Importing contacts from MsOutlook will result
in correct filing to the predefined categories.
- A contact's birthday or anniversary can be
transferred to the Calendar to show up as
recurring annual event.
- Contacts: the total number of contacts in
the list is displayed per category.
- Fixes:
- Certain system configurations on computers
without MsOutlook could cause the program to stop and
close when trying to import data from
MsOutlook, or the program did not even start.
Version 2.4.0.23 (November 9, 2007):
-
Fix: this release resolves an incompatibility between databases created with version 2.3.0.5 to 2.3.n.n and program version 2.4.0.0 to 2.4.22 (program stopped while trying to open the database).
Version 2.4.0.20 to 22 (October 15, 2007):
- Fixes:
- Import of contacts from MSOutlook: under certain circumstances, contacts could not be imported from MSOutlook at all or only partially. Bug corrected. (Thanks to B. Hause for his assistance)
- Websites are now opened in the PC's default browser, and not forced to open in Internet Explorer.
- Additions:
- Field "Anniversary" added in Contact file.
Version 2.4.0.7 & 8 (September 14, 2007):
- Additional finetuning and corrections:
- Program interruption when trying to register or starting with a section when launching the program: due to an outdated library (dll) file that hadn't been replaced in the setup package.
- For the same reason contact data could be lost after editing.
- Search routine revisited and adapted to quicker decrypting procedures and multibudget structure.
Version 2.4.0.6 (September 12, 2007):
- Installation
- Primary program file missing in one version of the installation file. Now included.
- Calendar
- Added security option: private data can be either hidden completely or appear neutrally with placekeepers (3 asteriscs or empty fields)
- Security gap closed: events marked as private could be edited in month view even when other private data had been hidden.
- Budget
- Bug corrected (transactions were deleted when the payment method was erased, now these transactions are transferred to Non Specified payment group)
Version 2.4.0.4 (September 2, 2007):
- Calendar
- Recurring events: delete only single occurrencies in the redo chain.
- First day in week: customizable (default system value)
- Toolbar buttons added for creating a new timed event or a new allday event
- Budget
- Total budget number increased from 3 to 255.
- Budget names and settings can be edited.
- Payment methods can be added, edited deleted.
- Analyze balances for single payment modes
- Miscellaneous
- Popup calendar redesigned and improved
- Global search procedure has been redesigned to increase search speed in encrypted records, sorting out private/public records
- Software has been adapted for international release in different languages and date formats.
- Characters with accents, dieresis etc. (öäéò...) which on some keyboards need to be keyed in with 2 clicks (accent key as dead key + character key) were displayed with 2 characters, due to low-level anti-keylogging interception. The issue has been corrected.
- Date format conflicts occurring when installing the software on machines with other system time formats, causing program interruptions in the calendar and budget section, have been fixed.
- Correction of minor bugs.
Version 2.3.0.6:
Keyboards where certain characters require pressing 2 keys sequentially (e.g. vocals with accents or dieresis) did generate a double display of the so called "dead" key (accent). The problem has been corrected.
Version 2.3.0:
- Release as freeware.
- Important change of database structure and indexing to close a potential security gap and
maximize data security.
- Optimized memory management.
- Additional alternatives of automatic data protection when not using the program (e.g. when you leave the computer unattended and
forget to exit AbsolutePrivacy): in earlier versions, Auto-Shutoff closed the program after a certain lapse of idle time; in this
version, you can choose either to
- exit the program
- close the section (e.g. Calendar)
- hide data marked as private
To regain access to the obscured data, you have to re-enter the main passphrase.
- New data fields have been added to the Contact section (several addresses, increased number of contact info, birthday etc.)
- Minor application layout improvements.
- Website redesigned.

been rationalized and small bugs have been eliminated.
Version 2.1.0: added improved calendar functions.
Version 2.0.0: the
diary and budget manager have been added to existing
applications.
